TESTIMONIALS

Dear Robert Abady Dog Food Co.:

Just wanted to let you know that we have been using your dog food for almost 15 years when we picked up our first rottweiler puppy, Chance in 1986.  Chance was a healthy 95lb., dignified dog that lived an active life in Boston before we moved to the foothills outside of Denver in 1994.  We finally lost Chance after 14 ½ years to kidney failure.  I attribute his lengthy life to his great attitude, exercise and socialization, and of course, to his good diet.

Chance left behind a good buddy, Mocha, who continues to eat Abady dog food.  She is a healthy, 125 lb., almost 4-year-old rottweiler.  While she might not act as dignified as Chance, she is known for being a love-muffin.  I have to say too, that she has not been sick a day in her life (outside of the couple of times she ate elk scat and got ghiarrdia – she also has eaten plenty of chocolate on the sly without keeling over!).

Unfortunately, stores in Colorado don’t carry Abady, but I am glad that we were able to order it directly.  I know our dogs are healthier because of this food.

Very truly yours,

M.W.

Amazing, astonishing, astounding, these are the beginning of the words I could use to describe what the ABADY Dog Food has done for my dog, Jake.  When I first heard of this stuff, I was pretty well convinced it was just another way someone was trying to separate me from my money.  But after talking for about an hour by phone, I thought, “this guy sounds like he cares more about his dogs than he does his wife!”  I’m sure that’s not true, but he did convince me to give it a try.

I’m glad I did!  Jake is a two-year-old purebred black lab, and I’ve always been proud of him: but he’s been to the vet many times over the last year for various afflictions.  Cysts between his toes, rashes on his cheeks, hair loss, and one minor operation on his foot to remove an infection.  The infection had no cause.  Finally he had a rather severe operation, for a large cyst on the side of his face.  These entire vet visits were getting costly and annoying.

The only explanation the vet had was a food allergy.  When I asked him what he suggested to feed him, he simply replied, “Good luck finding anything he doesn’t have any reaction to.  I still haven’t found it.  If you do, let me know.”  We tried many different foods, with varying results.  Usually in two weeks we would know if it was better, but everything had a reaction of some sort.

Since I put Jake on the Maintenance and Stress formula, Jake has not been to the vet yet.  He’s had absolutely no reason to!  Any and all afflictions he had in the past are gone!  I can hardly wait to take Jake to get his next shots.  I want to see the look on my vet’s face when he sees him, and realizes that I won’t be putting his kids through college.

Feel free to call or e-mail me for any more info or questions regarding the incredible results of Abady Products.  I have lots of other examples of how it changed the quality of Jake’s life.

ABADY FOOD- WOW!

We have two family dogs.  Jake is a young Lab, and Rose is my dog.  Rose is a Lab / German Short Hair mix.  She is about 9, maybe 10 years old now.  She has always been a low maintenance, problem free dog.  I got her when she was 9 months old, and have trained her quite a bit.  She has always been very high energy; if you have a German Short Hair you know their energy level!  When she was a little younger we would go for many walks, and I took her almost everywhere I went.  People would ask me how old my puppy was, and I would respond “five.”  (That was in years!)

She had an incredible physique!  She weighed 60 lbs. and you could see her muscles ripple as she walked.  She has always run like crazy, and loved to hunt small animals.  Her hair was so black and shiny; it looked like a rainbow in the sunlight.  But, like all of us, she has grown older.  In the last three years there have been many changes.  She has slowed down, and gotten soft.  She still weighs 60 lbs., but it is not all muscle.  She also lost her acute alertness, and developed cataracts in her eyes.  Her coat had gotten dull, and she has grayed quite a bit.  She preferred staying home instead of going for a ride.

Jake had to change his diet because of allergies, so Rose changed her diet also.  We really weren’t expecting much change in Rose, but we were pleasantly surprised!  She still weighs 60 lbs., but now it is muscle again.  (In most places).  Even neighbors have noticed a change in her.  The cataracts she had developed were gone within a month!  She has more energy, and she and Jake play for hours, running like crazy.  The quickest change was her coat.  Within two weeks it was shiny, and rich black again.  She is still gray, but I think even the gray hair is starting to fade.

I have no doubt that ABADY food has added many more happy years to her life.  I am looking forward to taking her on trips with me again, like we did when she was younger.  I would recommend ABADY food to anyone who loves their dog, and wants that companionship for years to come.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

C.D.

To Whom It May Concern,

We have been using various Abady Foods at the Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation Inc. for twenty years on both our adult breeding stock and our puppies.  In that period, as Mr. Abady, President of The Robert Abady Dog Food Company Ltd. anticipated, we eliminated hip dysplasia from our canine colony.  In fact the hips on our German Shepherd’s breeding stock are text-book perfect as are the hips on all the puppies under our total control.  Of the approximately two thousand puppies we have placed in foster homes for socialization, ninety percent are dysplasia free and only ten percent evidenced it mildly.  We attribute this to, possibly, our lack of rigid feeding control over these particular puppies that are placed in foster homes.  Prior to using Abady, fifty percent of our puppies developed hip dysplasia, some of it severe, even crippling.  Prior to using Abady we fed National brands.

I can say with certainty that in our experience, the proper combination of Abady foods when fed as directed, will not only prevent hip dysplasia but develop thoroughly sound animals.

I might add that in twenty years of feeding Abady foods to our German Shepherd colony, we have not experienced any incidence of bloat or torsion.

Out of gratitude to the Abady Company and to Mr. Abady personally, I give my permission to the Abady Company to use this statement as needed.

Dear Mr. Abady and staff,

I would like to thank everyone for their care and concern regarding my 14 year old Maltese, Landry.  Christmas night he was diagnosed with chronic heart failure and the vets didn’t give him much chance to live.  They kept him alive through medication and oxygen and through the grace of God, he made it through that night.  They told me that he had maybe weeks to live and changed his diet from [National brand] to one of hamburger and rice.  My little dog’s stomach did not take that well and he became even more ill.  Thanks to the efforts of neighbors, they told me to call [staff member] at Abady.  I cannot thank [staff  member] enough for their great insight and efforts to help Landry through this.  As a result of [staff member] consulting with Mr. Abady, my Maltese has made great strides.

He has not only gained weight, but his breath is normal and he has energy as if he was an eight (8) year old puppy.  I spoke with my veterinarian about Abady and she said it was “the best of the best.”  I simply cannot thank you enough for taking the time to explain and recommend what was best for my dog.  As a result, I will not hesitate to recommend all your products to my friends and family.  Thank you, Mr. Abady and [staff member] for extending my dog’s life.  We are both truly grateful!

With love and gratitude,

R.M. and Landry

To Whom It May Concern,

During the 80s I was introduced to Abady dog food while caring for a friend’s litter of German Shepherd newborns when my friend had suddenly taken ill.  I was truly amazed at the dam’s condition and how her puppies grew, while the dam remained in prime condition through peak lactation.  Incidentally, one of those puppies became one of the top police K-9s in the country.

I WAS CONVINCED!

Shortly thereafter, my daughter and I began feeding our German Shepherds Abady dog food, feeding specific formulas for each dog, age, purpose, etc.  To our amazement, wonderful changes in our dogs began very quickly.  While feeding it for several years, we were very pleased.  We had truly healthy dogs with no problems and in retrospect, we were not appreciative of its quality.

Many who saw our dogs would comment on their condition, muscle, bone and coat.  I received countless comments of how beautiful their coats were and questions on what I used to bathe them.  I had to tell them that my dogs rarely needed baths because of the food that they were on.  Sadly, I must say, both my daughter and I succumbed to outside pressures and switched to two other foods which we were told and thought was comparable to the Abady formulas yet less expensive.

Within 18 torturous months after switching from Abady to these two other WELL-KNOWN NATURAL BRANDS we had experienced many severe health problems resulting in over $20,000.00 in veterinary bills and ultimately losing our beloved companions within 3 months of each other.  During this tragic time, because of this food, we experienced the heartache of bloat, torsion, rapid auto immune disease, major skin allergies (including scratching, biting of fur and feet, gross skin odor with greasy fur and hot spots), uncontrollable diarrhea, vomiting, stool eating and poor coat and muscle condition.

After yet another visit to our veterinarian’s office with these persistent problems, our vet stated “It’s the food, you have to switch what you’re feeding.”  Suddenly, with our “eyes opened” we realized that these problems NEVER occurred while we were feeding Abady and we had no idea why it took us so long to wake up.  The worst thing was the emotional toll that it took on us and our families and the enormous guilt that still stays with us today.

Now, after being back on Abady for close to a year now, things are remarkably better!  We both had almost forgotten how beautiful and healthy a dog could be when they get the best food there is and for us that food is Abady.  Of course, in hindsight we wish we never changed from Abady to another brand but knowing what we know now we will never switch again.  We just can’t say enough about how wonderful Abady dog food is.

To us-a dog is not just a dog.  A dog is a true friend and a faithful companion that loves you no matter what and they deserve the very best!  The least we can do is feed them something that will keep them healthy, happy and with us for a very, very long time!

Very Truly Yours,

R.W. and L.K.

Dear Mr. Abady:

I was in Whiskers on East 9th Street where I purchase food for my cats and was told that the FDA was not allowing you to produce your specialty foods any longer.  I must tell you, I was very distressed.  Your Urinary Tract Health line has kept my male cat out of the hospital for two years now.

Mischka suffered terribly with FUS.  He was hospitalized and catheterized five times in one year.  I had tried everything – mega doses of Vitamin C, raw food diet, cranberry pills, antibiotics and was really at a complete loss as to how to help my cat.  [National brand] seemed to help, but that food is such poison, I honestly hated feeding it to him.  Eventually, I found Abady Urinary Tract and he has been symptom free ever since.  What will I do now?

I am writing to encourage you to keep up the good fight!  We need you and we need your cat food!  Mischka does so well on your food; his coat is luxurious, shining and thick; his eyes are bright; and more than that, he does not suffer with urinary tract disorders.

I will still use your Premium line, which I am told you can still produce, but I wait for your specialty lines to resume.

Thank you for helping my cat.

I remain, your staunch supporter,

E.G.

Dear Mr. Abady:

Please do not discontinue your product.  I have been feeding Alche-MEDICA, Hypo Allergenic Urinary Tract Diet to my 12 year old cat for two years and she is thriving.

In the past years, I had tried all the supposedly better brands of cat food for my cat, Kitty.  I tried [several National brands] and others through my veterinarian.  None of these products seemed to treat her allergic reactions to food.  Her condition was a great concern to me because she scratched her ears until there was no hair left on them.

After six months of eating nothing but Abady Urinary Tract Diet formula, she has silky hair, no itchy skin on her ears or face and I am happy to see that my cat is healthy.  I live alone and she and I are companions.

I am very grateful that my neighbor recommended Abady.  She has a small dog who also had allergies.  After its condition disappeared by feeding it your Abady dog formula, she mentioned Abady to me and I have been buying it ever since.

As I mentioned above I had tried different cat food products without success.  I wanted to write and tell you how satisfied I am with the health of my cat which is a result of your Abady cat food.  I hope you do not discontinue your fine product.

Good luck and best wishes,

D.V.

Administrative Chief

Food & Drug Administration

Compliance Office

To Whom It May Concern:

I have never been so furious, angry, annoyed and any other adjective I can use to let you know how outraged I am by the absolutely flagrant decisions that the Food & Drug Administration has been handing down with regard to animal consumption and care.

I have just been told by the shopkeeper where I buy my dog’s food that the FDA will not allow Abady Dog Food to be sold in New York State!!!

Let me fill you in on the scenario that led up to my using ONLY Abady Skin & Coat Diet for my Tibetian Terrier.

We had been having a terrible time with my dog (named Arnie) scratching and licking his skin until it was raw and bleeding.  My veterinarian said he was an allergic dog (as many are) and he was giving him steroid shots.  He also tried many different dog foods to try to alleviate the problem.  To no avail…it kept getting worse; to the point where Arnie was so uncomfortable that he was getting vicious.

In desperation I discussed his condition with the pet store owner whom I was buying dog items from and he suggested I try this Abady dog food.  The owner told me he had many customers who were very satisfied with the results from this food.  I also checked some natural food source books and to this food I added 2 drops of licorice root and some natural calming drops.

If I hadn’t done this myself I would not have believed the results.  In ONE week his skin was no longer bleeding and raw and in TWO weeks you would never have known he had a skin problem!

He has been fine ever since (this was over six months ago) and I was thrilled.

NOW I am told by the store owner that the FDA said that the maker of this food cannot put “Skin & Coat Diet” or hypo-allergenic or whatever the FDA codes say they cannot say and therefore they cannot sell this diet in New York.

Has anyone at the FDA tried to find out whether this food works as it says it does?????  How can the FDA decide what works without finding out if it works or not??  As in human medicine some methods or medicines work on some people and some do not—but I and several people who I have now been in touch with and who use this food swear by it and I think since there is nothing harmful in the food that I should be the one to decide whether it works or not!!!  If my dog’s skin didn’t get better I and only I should have the right to stop using this food—it may work for someone else.

As it stands now, I have to try to find a substitute that will work the same way as Abady Skin & Coat Diet.  I now have to put my perfectly WELL DOG through a trial and error process that may set him back, perhaps forever.  Why should I have to go through this and why should he????  This is not an unsafe, untried DRUG—this is a food with only natural ingredients.  I cannot tell you how frustrating this is—I have no recourse in protecting my animal from going back to scratching and tearing his skin.  I am not only writing to you to voice my anger but to find out what I can do to CHANGE these truly outrageous codes or whatever it is that allows the FDA to arbitrarily decide what or what cannot be written on a label (not necessarily if the food content is safe).  I, for one, will give a testimonial for Abady as a food for “skin and coat” care.

I would appreciate an answer to the above questions as soon as possible as I intend to rally as many people and organizations as possible to do something about this positively unbelievable and unfair use of power.

Very Truly Yours,

J. S.

To Whom It May Concern:

We, at The Cat Practice, are very concerned about the availability of Abady products.  For over one year our clients have been using the Abady Regular and Medica Diets as prescribed by us.  We are very pleased with the results, the cat owners are pleased, and the cats are doing very well.  At this point, we have clients that actually begin to cry because the Abady foods are not available.  They feel the Medica Diets have saved their cats’ lives.

As a feline only Veterinarian, I can say that diet plays a major role in feline health.  I have prescribed Abady Diets for Heart Disease, Renal Disease, G.I. Disease, Urinary Problems, Hyperthyroidism, Liver Disease, Diabetes Mellitus and Obesity.  The results are amazing.  I have found that weight problems are brought under control, creatinine levels reduce, and dependence on medicines like Tapazole, Insulin and Azium decreases.

It is our opinion (The Cat Practice, The Clients, The Cats and Myself), that removing Abady Medica Diets puts animals’ lives in jeopardy.  The Cat Practice clients are willing to hire lawyers and give testimony and/or depositions regarding the value they place on Abady foods.

Please consider your action as crucial in animal health.

Thank You,

 K.S., DVM

You were so very helpful and I’m ecstatic that [my dog with PANO] is eating.  I mean he’s jumping up and whining running all around the kitchen waiting for me to feed him.  It’s unreal!!!  Thank you very much.  I’ll keep you posted.

Dear Mr. Abady:

I am writing to let you know the food I was feeding (Alchemedica Urinary Tract diet for cats) has helped my FUS cat immensely.  Since I put him on that diet 3 ½ years ago he hasn’t had an infection once except when I changed his diet to something else for a short period.  I hope you can put it back on the market soon.

Thanks,

A.P.

Dear Mr. Abady:

I just wanted to take a moment and say thank you for making such a wonderful dog food.  I have 4 German Shepherds ages 2 ½, 3, 4, and 10 years.  They are just thriving since they’ve been on Abady,  especially my 4 yr old spayed female.  She was overweight and had a very dry coat.  I had to limit her food intake because she was getting so heavy.  After talking with a member of your staff, I was informed about your Spayed Bitch formula.  She is doing great.  She has the most beautiful coat and she looks amazing.  Her weight is so easy to maintain and I don’t have to feel like I’m starving her.  I just follow the recommended amount on the box for her weight and she looks great.  So thanks again.

Sincerely,

D.G.

Dear Abady Food Company

My cat is 12 years old.  She has a thyroid condition and started to develop kidney problems.  I purchased your Apex 2 at Abby's Gourmet Pet Store in Scott’s Corner NY.  I cannot tell you the difference in my cat since she has been on your food.  Her eyes are brighter, she is more active, just overall she appears to be better.  Last week I had her blood levels tested – she is much better.  90% of the time she is eating Apex 2 or your dry food.  Thanks for making a great product.  I love the fact that my cat is getting better through food.

Regards,

K.C. and Kyle

Mr. Abady,

I want to extend a compliment to you and your product!   Recently, I was speaking to a neighbor of mine that uses your product and I had never heard of it before.  I used premium dog food (not commercialized dog food) but felt that I was providing good nutrition to my dogs.   I saw his dogs and was astounded by the muscle tone!  I always thought that Malamute Husky's were big furry dogs but these guys were big, furry and STRONG!   They are competition dogs and pull enormous amounts of weight for their class and even beat the larger breeds in competition.  It had my curiosity.  I ordered Granular Stress and Maintenance and a bag of Allstar and tried it. I mixed the two products together my dogs took to it like gravy! One of my dogs that always acted very aggressive around food because he felt like he wasn't getting his share actually now walks away feeling satisfied since I changed his diet to ABADY.   This particular dog was always grumpy and somewhat aggressive to the rest of the pack.  He would eat and eat and eat and never put any weight on.   Behaviorist said to me that hunger could sometimes make a dog act aggressive and although I was feeding him good food it wasn't what he was needing.  Now I know this because aggression is gone!  He eats two cups a day and socializes with rest of the household and even runs and plays with the pack!  It’s wonderful! That's just one dog that I noticed a difference right away.  Two other dogs that I recently  purchased were fed a commercial food at their previous home and were decent weight but looked dull and didn't have definition to them. They lacked that luster about them!   They have been on the food for a month and have developed muscle tone just like I initially saw in the Malamutes!   Now I don't raise big dogs like Malamutes.  I raise little Rat Terriers  but it didn't take long for them to look shiny and healthy and wonderfully happy!  I am constantly getting compliments on their appearance!  I am thrilled to have been introduced to this product and even asked my local co-op to bring it in and he did.  I intend on distributing your literature to my new puppy owners so that they can give the best of the best of food to their new family members!

Thank you again,

S.F.
